Show Timeline, Rules, Terms & Conditions
Submissions are accepted between December 1, 2025 and February 24, 2026.
Artists living in Chautauqua County or within 35 miles of Jamestown may submit up to three pieces of and 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional media.
A panel of judges will select up to 60 pieces for ArtScape. Artists will be notified on March 10, 2026
March 10 – March 26. Artwork must be delivered to Chautauqua Art Gallery to be photographed for banner production.
May 13 – 16. Original Artwork is delivered to Galleries ready to hang/display.
May 22 – July 4. Artwork will be on display at Chautauqua Art Gallery and Pearl City Clay House.
A joint opening reception will be beld on a date TBD
Banners will be hung in June.
When an artist submits work to ArtScape Jamestown, they agree to:
- Deliver work framed and ready for hanging, or provide display support for 3-D works. All framed work must have hook eyes and wire, D-rings or similar hardware. The gallery reserves the right to adjust hardware as needed for hanging appropriately. Neither saw tooth hangers nor wet paint will be permitted. Frames, mats, and glass should be clean and presented professionally.
- Provide an additional artist statement/bio upon request.
- Artists will pick up any unsold work promptly upon the close of the exhibition. Any work that remains at Chautauqua Art Gallery or Pearl City Clay House beyond 60 days of the closing of the exhibition will be considered abandoned and become the sole property of the gallery.
- The artist grants Chautauqua Art Gallery and Pearl City Clay House non-exclusive rights to the copyrighted materials submitted to be used in digital and print promotion of the exhibition.
- The artist acknowledges that the work selected for the ArtScape banner project may be edited by the banner designer in order to meet design requirements. While our designer reserves the right to crop any artwork that does not easily fit the standardized banner format, all efforts will be made to do so only when necessary and in such a way as to minimize the alteration of the artwork. All artists whose work must be cropped will receive a proof of the banner design before printing.
- The artist/agent certifies and agrees that: They have lawful authority to manage, display, distribute, and sell the Artworks submitted, the Artworks are original and authentic.
- The artist/agent certifies and agrees that: No license or other right has been granted to any person or organization that would limit or restrict the public display of the Artworks by Chautauqua Art Gallery and Pearl City Clay House.
When an artist submits work to ArtScape Jamestown, they agree to the following terms and conditions:
- All works must remain on display at the Chautauqua Art Gallery or Pearl City Clay House for the duration of the original artwork show.
- No additional security measures will be provided at the Chautauqua Art Gallery and Pearl City Clay House beyond locked doors and windows during closed hours and security cameras.
- LIABILITY: Neither Chautauqua Art Gallery nor Pearl City Clay House will insure the Artworks or be liable for any damages, destruction, theft, or other harm that may occur while on display.
- The artist is responsible for the timely delivery and pick-up of the Artworks to and from the Chautauqua Art Gallery or Pearl City Clay House.
- Chautauqua Art Gallery and Pearl City Clay House retain final approval regarding content, design, and layout of the Artworks and any accompanying interpretive text.
- Installation will be performed by the Chautauqua Art Gallery and Pearl City Clay House.
- Chautauqua Art Gallery and Pearl City Clay House will promote the exhibition and sales through media contacts and social media accounts, and websites.
- Chautauqua Art Gallery and Pearl City Clay House will accept payment for any artwork being sold during the exhibition.
- Any work sold during the exhibition will be delivered to the purchaser upon the closing of the show.
- TERMS OF SALE: Chautauqua Art Gallery and Pearl City Clay House collect a commission of 30% of the retail price of the artwork. Payment to the artist shall be made within 30 days of the show’s closing.
- Images of the Artwork, as well as virtual exhibition videos containing the Artwork, may remain on the Chautauqua Art Gallery and Pearl City Clay House websites in perpetuity as an archive of the exhibition.
